Medevac off Diglipur

In a challenging maritime medical evacuation, the Indian Coast Guard responded to a report of a serious injury involving a crew member of the 'Amris' off Diglipur on the night of Sep 20, 2026. The sailor, a 36-year-old Bangladeshi national, had sustained severe head and spinal injuries after falling on board the ship. Braving rough seas, the Indian Coast Guard ship 'Rajdoot' embarked the injured and transported him safely to the port of Diglipur. The man was then airlifted by an Indian Navy aircraft to Sri Vijaya Puram for urgent medical treatment at the GB Pant Hospital. The 'Consolidator', en route from Ravenna to Illichivsk, suffered an engine failure off the coast of Kınalıada on Aug 29, 2021. The ship dropped anchor in Ahırkapı, assisted by the Turkish tug 'Kurtarma 7', which was deployed by Coastal Safety, and a pilot. under the coordination of the Vessel Traffic Services.
