Ferry left fleet of Aegean Sea Lines
The Greek ferry operator Aegean Sea Lines has announced that the 'Anemos' has left the fleet. The ferry was acquired in 2023 with the aim of contributing to the service of the Western Cyclades, offering reliable and quality ferry connections for the residents, professionals and visitors of the islands. During its operation, the ship consistently served the routes of the islands, winter and summer, even under difficult weather conditions, with the absolute priority being the safety of passengers, crew and ship. However, the conditions that have developed on the routes of the Western Cyclades, in the context of the wider developments affecting the sector, made it unrealistic to continue this effort under the terms and goals with which it had started. The ship has officially left Aegean Sea Lines and continued its service under the new ownership of the market leader Marios Iliopoulos, ensuring that the vessel remained active in Greek waters.
Ferry delayed due to stuck anchor
On Ma 4, 2025, at midday, the Port Authority of Milos was informed by the Captain of the 'Anemos', that the arrival from the anchorage of Adamas at the port was delayed, as the starboard side anchor had got entangled with another anchor that was on the bottom and got stuck. Finally, the ship sailed for Kimolos, Sifnos, Serifos and Piraeus at 1:40 p.m. instead of 1 p.m. as scheduled 13:00, with 29 passengers and 62 crew members on board.
Ferry turned around to drop off ill passenger
The "Rosella" enroute from Mariehamn to Kapellskär on Jan 1, 2018, returned to Mariehamn due to an ill passenger. The ferry turned at Kobba Klintar after starting from Mariehamn at 12.45 p.m. which was faster than calling a helicopter to the ferry to pick up the person. The ferry resumed the voyage with a delay of 40 minutes.
