Five civilian seafarers killed in Russian attack

The 'Arosa' was hit by a Russian drone in the port of Chornomorsk, while the bulk carrier was unloading mineral fertilizer, on July 13, 2026. It was struck in the superstructure, and a fire resulted. Three of the crewmembers were killed, and five others were injured and taken to a hospital for medical treatment. They were reported to be from Egypt and Syria. The ship was sent to Bulgaria to undergo repairs.

Bulk carriers in collision off Boczaada

The Marshall Islands flagged bulk carrier 'Clipper Como' (IMO:9486570), en route from Jorf Lasfar to Samsun with phosphate as cargo, was in collision with the 'Levantes' in the night of Sep 17,, 2021, about 10 nautical miles off Bozcaada. The ship was breached at port side, started taking in water and was in danger of sniking. It was down by the bow and developed a list. No pollution was reported to date, no injuries either. The Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services,deployed the tugs 'Türkeli' and 'Kurtarma 13' as well as the lifeboat 'Kiyem 1' to assist. On Sep 18 at midday the ship was moored in pos. 39° 46.60' N 025° 58.89' E. The 'Levantes' was en route from Novorossyisk to Port Said with a cargo of wheat.
