Grounding off Lezha
The 'Besart', with six crew members on board, ran aground on Jan 8, 2026, amid bad weather in Lezha just off the coast of Tale. The crew was still on board, but rescue efforts were proving difficult. The ship got stuck in pos. 41° 39' N 019° 34' E at around 7 a.m. UTC due to deteriorating weather conditions and high waves that battered the Adriatic Sea. It was initially anchored near Cape Rodoni. Due to the anchor dragging since Jan 7, and the worsening weather, it went adrift off the Kuna region, until it ran aground near the shore.
