Docker killed when containers fell over jiard

Operations at the Nhava Sheva Freeport Terminal in the JNPA harbour halted on the morning of July 6, 2026, following an accident that left one docker dead and another seriously injured. The worker was killed, after four empty containers stacked on the 'Dalian' at the Nhava Sheva Freeport Terminal (NSFT) of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) fell off the vessel at the container berth during heavy rain and gusty winds around 3.30 a.m. The four containers landed on two trucks at the terminal, including a truck for collecting hazardous waste. The containers fell on two workers while they were atop one truck for the assigned work of removing waste oil from the anchored ships and filling it into the truck. The two workers were trapped under one of the four boxes. The deceased worker was identified as Amit Kumar Kishor Prasad, 19, who hailed from Bihar, and the injured worker as Naeem, 30, who was from Gaziabad. The incident caused panic among workers. While Prasad was declared brought dead at the Indira Gandhi Rural Govt Hospital in Uran as he got directly crushed under one container, Naeem was admitted to Medicover Hospital in Kharghar. Close call in Bosphorus Strait

Enroute from Odessa to Istanbul, the "OOCL Novorossiysk" veered off course during a snowstorm in the Bosphorus Strait in the foremidday of Jan 7, 2017. The ship was close running ashore at the Hotel Tarabya and hitting the dock.
