Several crew members of Disney Magic arrested by US Customs and Border Protection agents
About 10 crew members of the 'Disney Magic' were arrested in San Diego by US Customs and Border Protection agents on April 23, 2026. No official charges or the identities of those arrested have been released or confirmed. One of the crew members arrested was the head waiter during the 4-night sailing to Catalina and Ensenada.He and the others being detained did not appear to have any personal belongings with them as they were escorted to a white, unmarked van. The crew members were in restraints at the time. An immigration rights political group, Union del Barrio, noted that roughly 10 Disney Cruise Line employees were arrested on that date, followed by several crew members from Holland America Line’s cruise ship 'Zandaam' several days later. Witness accounts identified CBP officials boarding the 'Disney Magic', taking approximately 10 workers off the ship with restraints and transported onto a CBP vehicle. Organisations demanded the CBP to provide the legal basis for taking workers off vessels when they were not requesting entry into the US, as well as information on the procedure on where the workers were taken, their actual location, and how legal organisations could contact them to ensure their due process rights were respected and family members could get a hold of them. On the whole, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) arrested 28 Disney Cruise employees for alleged child pornography offenses. The operation, conducted on five cruise ships including the' Disney Magic', focused on workers accused of possessing or distributing illegal child sexual exploitation material. Authorities cancelled visas and removed the individuals from the country. Details regarding the identities of those arrested and the specific charges have not been fully released. Leakage in floor of deck 5
The 'Disney Magic', en route from Miami to San Juan, suffered a major leak stemming from the floor of deck 5 on the afternoon of March 29. Water was falling from the ceiling near the chandelier lights in the main atrium, meaning it was leaking from deck 5 all the way down to deck 3. You can watch a video of the leakage below: The leakage was still ongoing on March 30 and has worsened. The floors 3/4/5 amidships were closed with activities cancelled/moved and passengers also need edto go to other decks to go from forward to aft. Some people in the 6500s cabins had to change rooms and were given some sort of compensation. Nine year old girl medevaced off Galveston
A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter crew medevaced a 9-year-old girl from the 'Disney Magic' 170 miles offshore of Galveston, Texas, on March 3, 2025. The Air Station Houston responded to a medical emergency aboard the vessel, successfully airlifting the child to UTMB Health - University of Texas Hospital in Galveston for further treatment. The girl was reported to be in stable condition. The 'Disney Magic' had departed from Galveston on March 2 for a four-day Western Caribbean cruise.
