Cargo vessel suffered mechanical failure off Umuryeri

The 'Arda', en route from Bandırma to the Russian port Tuapse, suffered a mechanical failure off Umuryeri on the morning of Sep 30, 2025. The tugs 'Kurtarma 4' (IMO: 9335941) and 'Kurtarma 6' (IMO: 9463176) as well as a strait pilot were deployed to assist and took the ship in tow. It was safely moored at the Büyükdere anchorage. The response was coordinated by the Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services Center. The Bosphorus was timewise blocked for ship traffic after the incident. Traffic in both directions was reopened in both northbound and southbound directions shortly after the ship was secured by the tugs. Video: https://x.com/i/status/1972902543132066146

Technical failure at Zonguldak

The 'Arda' suffered a technical failure at Zonguldak on Nov 10, 2021. The vessel departure permission was temporarily cancelled by the Harbour Master until completion of repairs and an inspection by a state surveyor.
