Detention in Zhuhai

The 'Ginga Leopard' was detained during a Port State Control inspection in Zhuhai on April 15, 2026. The inspectors found six deficiencies, two of which were being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention. The inspection was conducted under the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The detention indicated significant issues that had to be addressed before the vessel could resume operations. The ship left the port again on April 17, next headed to Huizhou, where it arrived on April 18.

Lost crew member found by helicopter

The "Ginga Leopard" reported to Salvamento Maritimo a man overboard shortly after leaving Barcelona, on July 14, 2017, around noon The vessel turned back, and the MRCC Barcelona deployed helicopter, which located the crew member and airlifted him to a hospital in Barcelona with hypothermia symptoms. The tanker resumed its voyage to Safi.
