The 'Hardingen Sr' set off from Stoksund on its last journey on the evening of April 28, 2026, under tow by the tug 'Chief' from Kristiansund to Fosen Gjenvinning in Stoksund. After operating for HSD until 1991, Hardingen was sold to Italy. 25 years later, she was brought back to Norway and put into service as a tourist ferry on the Nærøyfjord. The HSD profile and the old name were back on the ferry, Sr added to distinguish it from its successor with the same name. After only four seasons, the ferry was taken out of traffic. She was sold and has been moored in Kristiansund since 2020.

Ferry sidelined due to technical trouble

In the morning of Aug 4, 2016, the "Hardingen" had to be withdrawn from the Ranavik-Skjersholmane service due to gear trouble. The "Bjørnefjord" was mobilized from Steinestø as a replacement ferry.
