China accused Dutch frigate of illegally intruding into waters of Xisha Islands

The Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command accused the 'De Ruyter-F 804' of having illegally intruded into the waters of the Xisha Islands and repeatedly launched its shipborne helicopter to intrude into China's territorial airspace on May 27, 2026. By taking necessary measures including verbal warnings and warning electronic interference, the navy and air force troops assigned to the Command stated to have expelled the Dutch frigate in accordance with laws and regulations. China stressed that the Dutch side's actions have seriously infringed upon China's territorial sovereignty, maritime and air security, contravened international law and basic norms governing international relations, undermined peace and stability in the South China Sea, and were highly likely to lead to misunderstandings and misjudgments.
