Several injured umin fire on crew tender

A fire broke out in the engine room of the 'Fob Swath 6' in Eemshaven on March 20, 2026. Several crew members were injured, including from smoke inhalation.The fire department responded with multiple fire engines and two foam fire engines to combat the fire. The fire was quickly brought under control, partly because the efforts focused on fighting the fire from inside the ship. A number of crew members inhaled smoke and were taken to the hospital for examination. At least one person required emergency transport. A significant diesel leak occurred inside the ship due to the fire. The situation on board was being closely monitored. In consultation with the shipping company, a plan was being developed to limit the consequences of the leak and prevent further risks. The cause of the fire was currently unknown.
