Drone attack off Sinop

On Sep 13, 2026, the 'Lionfish' came under attack in the Black Sea en route from Ambarlı to Trabzon. A fire broke out on the vessel following the attack, but the crew managed to bring it under control. There were no casualties or injuries. The attack took place off the coast of Sinop, within Turkish territorial waters, while there was no official confirmation regarding the exact coordinates of the attack. The ship initially continued its voyage after the attack, but subsequently altered its course.

The "Leonie P" entered the port of Rotterdam on Dec 10 at 7.30 p.m., assisted by the "Multratug 31". The Panama flagged salvage ship "Friendship" (IMO: 7904827) from Terschelling, contracted by the insurance company, recovered two of the boxes on Dec 10. They did not sink because they were empty. 10 containers had been located by an aircrat of the Dutch Coastguard in the sea.
