Sailings cancelled due to engine issue

Wed Jul 29 09:33:30 CEST 2026 Timsen

On the morning of July 29, the 'Loch Bhrushda', serving on the route Berneray-Leverburgh, suffered a technical issue with the engine, which required further investigations. As a consequence, the scheduled departures from Berneray at 07:00 a.m. and from Leverburgh at 08:25 a.m. had to be cancelled. Following sailings were at risk of disruption or cancellation. Due to the removal of the 'Loch Portain' from the route, the 'Loch Bhrusda' has been redeployed on this route from the Mallaig-Armadale-service, on which the 'Coruisk' was operating  a single vessel timetable until Aug 6: https://www.calmac.co.uk/en-gb/service-status/#/service-status/033?route=18

Ferry sidelined in Mallaig due to steering fault

Thu Jul 23 10:17:55 CEST 2026 Timsen

The 'Loch Bhrushda', serving on the route Berneray-Leverburgh, was suffering an ongoing technical issue and was sidelined for repairs on July 13. The passenger charter m/v 'Pabbay Lass' operated an amended timetable from the Leverburgh Pontoons and the Fishermans Pier in Berneray until July 21. The vessel could, however, only accommodate a maximum of 12 passengers, push bikes, dogs and up to five infants per sailing and was not suitable for customers with limited mobility. On July 16, the ' Loch Bhrushda' suffered a reocurrence of the aft steering fault and returned to Mallaig for safe berthing. Until July 22, the 'Coruisk' was operating a single vessel service with the following schedule: July 22: Departure Mallaig - 07:40 a.m., 09:30 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 2:25 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 5:40 p.m. Departure Armadale – 08:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:35 p.m., 3:10, 5:50 p.m., 6:30 p.m. In order to allow engineers to monitor the results of repairs, the 'Loch Brushda' remained on the Mallaig-Armadale route until July 22, and the 'Coruisk' operated a single vessel timetable on the route Berneray-Leverburgh between July 23 and Aug 6. https://www.calmac.co.uk/en-gb/service-status/#/service-status/033?route=18
