Two tankers attacked in Novorossiysk - CPC suspended operationsagain
The Greek-owned tanker 'Nissos Sifnos', which was loading at one of the single-point moorings in the marine terminal off Novorossiysk and was struck by a drone near the cargo deck’s oil intake manifolds, causing a fire started, and the 'Marathi', which was approaching the terminal and was approximately six nautical miles away from the terminal, were attacked on the night of July 29, 2026. After the second attack, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium suspended all loading operations again. It asserted, however, that the pipeline was operating normally and not damaged. At least five tankers immediately diverted away from the CPC. The tankers were signaling that they were now proceeding to Spain or Turkey, or holding in the Black Sea. The ' Marathi' transited the Bosphorus enroute to Piraeus for repairs with an ETA as of Aug 10.
