Dead and injured in drone attack

The 'MF Breeze' was damaged in a drone attack within Russian territory on Aug 6, 2026, at 12.30 p.m. while awaiting docking instructions at the Tuapse anchorage. Azzat Kassem, one of the 19 Syrian crew members on board, lost his life in the attack. The incident resulted in injuries to four others. The injured crew members were airlifted from the ship by a medical helicopter to a hospital in the city of Samsun to receive the necessary medical care. The injured were: - Abdul Karim Laila; - Abdul Rahman Rihawi; - Adnan Baylouna; - Mousa Abu Shanab. According to available information, the health condition of the four injured men was stable, and they are receiving the necessary medical care. The accommodation area and bridge burnt largely out and were gutted. The unloaded ship meanwhile proceeded to Turkish waters and anchored off Samsun in pos. 41° 20' N 036° 22 E on Aug 7.
