Disabled trawler towed to Milford
The RNLI lifeboat in Angle was launched on Nov 14, 2025, at 8:56p.m. to assist the 'Isabella-PW 82', which had suffered mechanical failure around 26.5 nautical miles southwest of St Ann’s Head with seven crew members aboard. The trawker was located just before 11:00 p.m. amid challenging night-time conditions. Following an assessment by the coxswain, it was decided that, given the vessel’s position, potential hazard to navigation, and the welfare of those on board, the safest option was to take the ship under tow. A towign connection was established and a course set for the Milford Docks. After a slow and steady passage lasting more than seven hours, the vessels arrived off the port on Nov 15 shortly before 7:30 a.m. While waiting for the next lock, the fishing vessel was brought alongside the lifeboat for the final approach. The 'Isabella' was safely secured within the Milford Docks by 8:00 a.m. With no further assistance required, the all-weather lifeboat was refuelled and made ready for service by 8:45a.m., nearly 12 hours after the initial alert.
