BizNaz Resources International, the Singaporean Christian organization, on Mar 25. 2010, announced it would invest 7.5 million Singapore dollars on upgrading the "Doulos", refurbishing its cabins and turn them luxury hotel rooms, restaurants, banquet rooms, a maritime museum and offices. The ship is to be renamed "Doulos Phos" and take up its new function in 2011.

On Mar 18, 2010, the Singaporean company BizNaz Resources International Pte. Ltd. officially took ownership of the "Doulos". The company plans to renovate the ship and covert it into a floating theme restaurant/cafe/bookshop/banquet rooms/museum, and possibly a hotel. It will remain pierside in the Jurong area of Singapore.

The "Doulos" is not going for the breakers, but instead is sold to some Singaporean business men who will convert her into a floating restaurant/conference center, the "Doulos" will be handed over to the new owners on Mar 18. 2010, the next day the last volunteer crewmembers will leave the vessel for the last time.
