Claims about attack on tanker rejected
Claims that the 'Liaki Freedom' was struck by a U.S. missile, killing four Indian crew members on June 13, 2026, amplified by India Sentinel, included chilling accounts from an alleged sailor who claimed bodies had been placed in the ship's freezer after the attack, were rejected. India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) moved swiftly to debunk the reports, stating that it had spoken directly with the vessel's Master, who confirmed that all crew members were safe and that the allegations were false. India's Directorate General of Shipping also rejected the claims. According to Forward Seamen's Union of India, it has not been able to contact the ship as its Very High Frequency (VFH) radio is not responding. However, it managed to track the vessel in pos. 24°43.85 N 56°37.52 E.
