One injured in collision north of Brottøya

On Jan 27, 2026, at approximately 7:20 a.m., a fishing boat was in collision with the 'Nora' north of Brottøya between Lekang and Hennes, in the middle of the Hadsel fjord near the island of Gjæva in the Hadsel Municipality in Nordland County. The 'Nora' was transporting crew members who were going to work at the new fish farming tank Storbåtsegga of Nordlaks at the Sørvika location in Ingelsfjorden. Both vessels were then towed to Sandnesodden, which is on the southern end of Langøya. The fishing boat had sustained significant bow damage, and its skipper suffered minor injuries. Other work boats from Nordlaks quickly arrived at the scene to assist the injured.The police, the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority and the Norwegian Maritime Authority were notified. The passengers on Nora were transported on to work. The extent of damage was not yet known.
