Fourth detention since 2025
The "Poyraz" was detained for the fourth time in little more than a year, this time on Sep 3 in Izmir with 11 deficiencies, five of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Emergency system - Fire drills Lack of knowledge 2) Pollution Prevention - Oil and oily mixtures from machinery spaces Lack of familiarity 3) Pollution Prevention - Ballast Water Management System Malfunctioning 4) Fire safety - Fire damers Inoperative 5) Fire safety - Fire detection and alarm system Inoperative The vessel was released again on Sep 3 and shifted to the Mytilene Anchorage. The "Poyraz" was detained on March 21, 2026, in Burgas with 16 deficiencies, 11 of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Certificate & Doc - Certificate or documentary evidence of financial security for repatriation Missing 2) Certificate & Doc - Certificate or documentary evidence of financial security relating to shipowners liability Missing 3) Certificate & Doc - Ship Energy Effiiciency Managment Plan Missing 4) Certificate & Doc - Medical certificate Expired 5) Certificate & Doc - Seafarers employment agreement Expired 6) Life saving appliances - Lifeboats Inoperative 7) Life saving appliances - Lifeboats Not properly maintained 8)) Pollution Prevention - Ballast Water Management Plan Not as required 9) Safety of navigation - Voyage or passage plan Lack of information 10) Safety of navigation - Long-range identicifation and tracking system Inoperative 11) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on March 27 and left the port enroute to Sulina with an ETA as of March 28.
