Detention in Humen

The 'Quartz' was detained in Humen on Dec 16, 2025, under the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding following an initial inspection. the inspectors found six deficiencies, four of which were being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention. The ship left the port again on Dec 17.

Medevac on Wester Scheldt

The Breskens lifeboat carried out a medical evacuation in the early morning of Aug 30, 2018, from the "Baltic Wind". The tanker was enroute from Antwerp to Tallinn when the woman became unwell at Flushing roads while on the bridge of the vessel. The Dutch Coast Guard alerted the duty doctor of the Radio Medical Service (RMD) and the lifeboat crew of Breskens. The "Zeemanshoop" quickly set sail towards the tanker. In consultation with the physician of the RMD it is decided to medevac the woman via the pilot ladder. Once the woman was aboard the lifeboat, it rushed to Breskens where an ambulance team took her to the Knokke-Heist hospital for further treatment. On April 2 2011 at 1643 LT while proceeding in ice convoy guided by icebreaker Ermak to S-Petersburg, bulk carrier Golden Trader allided with tanker Baltic Wind. Tanker suddenly stopped, proceeding in convoy line in front of Golden Trader. An aft lifeboat davit on Baltic Wind was slightly damaged, Golden Trader didn’t report any damages.
