Sailing yacht troubled off Ijmuiden
On the night of June 3, 2026, the KNRM Ijmuiden assisted the 'Ribaldus', which had departed from Oudeschild earlier that day. She had got advice not to leave port. Nevertheless, the Luxembourg skipper had decided to head out to sea. The sailing yacht was monitored from the Coast Guard Center throughout the voyage. As they approached IJmuiden, the KNRM were alerted as a precaution. Just before the lifeboat arrived on the scene, a loose line on the deck struck the yacht's propeller, and the sea rescuers were able to assist immediately.
