The 'Skiftet' with 25 people on board was in distress off Sottunga in Åland on Oct 4, 2025. The engine of the ferry, which operates in the Archipelago Sea between Korpo and Lumparland, stalled on the western side of Sottunga at noon. The ship was forced to make an emergency anchor a hundred meters from the shore. Initially, the ferry drifted around because the water was too deep to drop anchor. After the ship's engines have been started again, the anchor has been lifted, and the ship berthed in Langnäs, Lumparland. Ferry suffered technical fault

On Dec 9, 2024, the 'Skiftet' suffered a technical fault and the vessel has been replaced by the 'Knipan' by the operator Ålandstrafiken. The departure at 4 p.m. from Långnäs was delayed by an estimated hour, and the 'Knipan' also replaced the departure at 10 a.m. from Galtby. The 'Skiftet' was sidelined in Långnäs.
