The 'Stevila', enroute from Nijmegen to Marcinelke, was stuck aground d for a few hours on the Waal River near Nijmegen on Sep 26, 2026, at around 5:15 p.m. near the railway bridge of the port. The water depth at the spot where the ship came to a halt is only one meter. Another cargo ship, the Jacoubs', which was nearby, stopped to assist. A towing line was attached between the two vessels, enabling the 'Jacobus' (MMSI: 244045895) to pull the stuck ship off the ground again, which then proceeded towards Born with own power, initially escorted by a patrol boat of Rijkswaterstaat.
