On May 12, the 'Sulina' was detained for the third time since last November, this time in Burgas with 16 deficiencies, 11 of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Certificate & Doc - Seafarers employment agreement Expired 2) Labour conditions - Provisions quality and nutritional value Expired 3) Labour conditions - Electrical Unsafe 4) Life saving appliances - Launching arrangements for rescue boats Not properly maintained 5) Safety of navigation - Charts Not updated 6) Safety of navigation - Voyage or passage plan Missing 7) Safety of navigation - Compass correction log Missing 8)) Water/Weathertight - Freeboard marks Not readable 9) Cargo operations incl equipment - Atmosphere testing instruments Malfunctioning 10) Alarms - Machinery controls alarms Malfunctioning 11) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on May 15, but the inspection led to a refusal of access to Paris MOU-harbours. On Feb 27, 2026, the ' Sulina' was detained again, this time in Aliaga with 24 deficiencies, five of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Certificate & Doc - Other (Certificates) Other 2) Safety of navigation - Charts Missing 3) Fire safety - Fire detection and alarm system Not properly maintained 4) Living and working - Other (Crew and accommodation) Not as required 5) Safety of navigation - BNWAS Inoperative The vessel was released again on March 3 and left the port enroute to Constanta.
