Last sailing for Condoe Ferries

Wed Nov 05 20:41:02 CET 2025 Timsen

Over six decades of Condor Ferries high-speed operations came to an end on Nov 2, 2025, when the 'Condor Voyager' sailed from Poole to St Malo via Guernsey. The ferry then proceeded to Cherbourg for overhaul and repainting into the livery of the parent company Brittany Ferries, before resuming service over the busy Christmas period under the shortened name 'Voyager'.

Yacht skipper assisted off Corbière Lighthouse

Mon Jul 07 11:31:14 CEST 2025 Timsen

The 'Condor Voyager' and the RNLI boat 'George Sullivan went to the aid of a French yacht after its skipper fell ill on July 5, 2025. The RNLI received a mayday call at about 6:30 p.m. BST from the yacht which was about eight miles west of Corbière lighthouse. The call was made by the daughters of the skipper, who was unwell and unable to sail the yacht into St Helier. The 'Condor Voyager', which was en route to St Malo, diverted to offer assistance. It launched its rescue boat so the crew could board the yacht and provide immediate care. The 'George Sullivan' 'arrived 30 minutes later, relieving the ferry crew and allowing it to continue with its sailing to St Malo. A casualty assessment found the skipper of the yacht was not in immediate danger. It was decided to sail the vessel back to St Helier under a reduced sail area. The weather conditions were challenging with a heavy swell and gusting winds of up to a force 6. The 'George Sullivan' and the yacht arrived in St Helier harbour just before 10 p.m. report with photo: https://rnli.org/news-and-media/2025/july/06/rnli-jersey-tasked-to-mayday-from-french-yacht

Ferry turned around for suspected missing passenger

Tue Jul 18 12:44:43 CEST 2023 Timsen

On July 16, 2023, the 'Condor Voyager' turned back towards St Malo after reports of a missing passenger. Eye-witnesses reported distress among some passengers on the crossing from St Malo to St Helier, with fears that the missing person, believed to be a French girl of school age, may have fallen overboard. The 'Condor Voyager' was approaching the midpoint of its journey in the evening when it stopped, carried out a U-turn and headed back towards the Brittany coast. The ferry retraced its journey at slow speed for about 20 minutes, before a second announcement about the person concerned having been accounted for. After a short period, it was established the person was not on board, and the ship continued on to St Helier. The ferry eventually docked in St Helier just after 8 p.m., causing delays for those waiting for the return crossing to St Malo.
