Captain's car sank due to technical defect of ship's crane

Deu to a technical defect of the crane of the 'Zerberus', which was en route from Berlin, the car of the ship's master fell into the water of the Mittelland Canal and sank near Bülstringen in the Börde district. The accident happened while it was being loaded onto the vessel on the afternoon Nov 4, 2025. A crane raised the vehicle on Nov 5 and placed it on a pontoon. Divers from the 'DP 3904' (ENI: 05039040) also assisted in the recovery. The car was outside the fairway in pos. 52° 19' N 011° 21' E, and therefore posed no danger to shipping. In addition to the water police, the environmental protection agency, the waterways and shipping authority, and the fire department were involved in the recovery operation.
