The Port of Fujairah, the United Arab Emirates’ key crude export hub outside the Strait of Hormuz, was struck again on Monday, 16 March, the second Iranian attack in 48 hours. All the terminals at Fujairah were closed as a precaution. Over the weekend, loadings continued despite the initial missile strike on Saturday, although all operations were conducted without AIS transmission.

Loadings of Murban crude rose sharply last week after the UAE’s Jebel Dhana terminal halted Murban exports entirely in response to the escalating US‑Iran conflict. Wood Mackenzie vessel‑tracking data shows the ADNOC pipeline to Fujairah supported month‑to‑date loadings of more than 1.9mn b/d for March through Thursday, 12 March.

Fujairah remains strategically critical for the UAE, serving as the country’s only export route that bypasses the narrow and vulnerable Strait of Hormuz. Any disruption at the port has the potential to ripple through regional supply chains and influence tanker routing, insurance costs, and short‑term crude flows.
