River cruise ship suffered technical defect

Mon Nov 10 12:19:39 CET 2025 Timsen

A technical defect has occurred on the 'A Rosa Silva', affecting both the current voyage from Nov 5 to 10, 2025, and the start of the next voyage. A-ROSA River Cruises and its partners were working on the necessary repairs. Guests on the current voyage departing from Cologne and traveling south on the Rhine have been informed that the cruise will only return to Mainz and not to Cologne. The ship was behind schedule on its current 5-day Rhine cruise. The arrival in Main was originally planned for Nov 9 at 6:00 a.m.. As of 12:30 p.m., the river cruise ship was sailing north, near Mannheim and Ludwigshafen and due to arrive in Mainz on the afternoon as the final port of call on its current short cruise, which concluded on Nov 19. Originally, the ship was scheduled to depart at noon towards Koblenz and Cologne. Instead, the river cruise ship remained in Mainz until Nov 10, so that external specialists could repair the technical defect on site. Original itinerary from Nov 5 to 10: Cologne – Rüdesheim – Speyer – Kehl – Mainz & Lorelei Passage & Koblenz – Cologne Adjusted itinerary: Cologne – Rüdesheim – Speyer – Kehl – Mainz – Mainz The Rostock-based river cruise operator has informed guests of the Rhine cruise departing on Nov 10 thatthe embarkation would take place in Mainz instead of Cologne. A-ROSA has organized a bus transfer between Cologne and Mainz for the disembarkation of current guests and the embarkation of new passengers. If the technical issue can be resolved in Mainz, the "Rhine Romance with Illustrator Tanja Meyer" cruise will then continue as planned.
