Tanker damages by drone

The 'AK Ana' was attacked by a drone in the Black Sea around Aug 26, 2026, causing a everely damaged navigation bridge and significant structural damage inside the vessel's primary operating spaces and accommodation area. The impact shattered the ceiling structures, tore down overhead insulation panels, and threw debris across the floor. There were shrapnel holes piercing the upper bulkheads, and structural beams have buckled over the main control console. The 23 crew members, among them 22 Indian nationals and one Filipino seafarer, were safe.

Damaged tanker transited Bosphorus

On Oct 23, the 'AK Ana', still wearing signs of thd drobe attack of Aug 26 at the accommodation block and around the funnel, was towed through the Bosphorus by two tugs of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety enroute from the Black Sea. The convoy was bound to a shipyard for permanent repairs to the damaged tanker.
