Tug was threatened to sink
On the afternoon of March 31, 2026, the 'Amber' took on water in the Waasland Canal, next to the Kallo Lock in Kallo. When the emergency services arrived on the scene, water was already standing on the aft deck of the tug. Using several pumps, the partially flooded hold was pumped dry, causing the tug to rise higher again and the danger of sinking to subside. No one was injured in the incident. The cause of the boat suddenly taking on water was unclear. The vessel is owned by a company specialising in hydraulic engineering.
