Gas tanker and inland vessel in collision

The gas tanker 'Coral Fungia' (IMO: 9378292), en route from Rafnes, was in collision with the 'Blue', en route from Merksem, on the Scheldt in front of the Van Cauwelaert Lock on July 28, 20226, at around 6 p.m. near buoy 103 on the approach to the lock complex. The tanker suffered two dents and a breach well above the waterline. Because there was no danger to the cargo or safety, the tanker was granted permission to continue sailing. The 'Blue' was granted permission to unload its cargo at the Vrasene dock in the Waasland Port in Antwerp, but had proceed to the shipyard to be repaired afterwards. The 'Coral Fungia' moored on the Scheldt near Zwijndrecht. The circumstances of the collision were under investigation.
