Sailings cancelled due to technical reasons
The sailings of the 'Ceuta Jet', operating between Ceuta and Algeciras on the Strait of Gibraltar, were cancelled on Sep 28 until further notice due to technical reasons. Affected were the scheduled departures at 12:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.. The company DFDS has not yet announced when the affected departures were to be reinstated. Ferry sidelined due to technical issues
The shipping company DFDS suspended all scheduled sailing between Ceuta and Algeciras due to a technical breakdown of the 'Ceuta Jet' on July 22, 2026. The catamaran ferry remained docked in Algeciras throughout the day and was unable to complete any of its scheduled crossings. In total, the shipping company canceled 12 departures, six from each port: The scheduled services from Algeciras at 7:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. and from Ceuta at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. were affected. The vessel was able to resume its service on July 23. Despite the cancellation of DFDS services, the connection between both sides of the Strait remained operational thanks to the other shipping companies that serve the route. Baleària continues to provide service with nine departures in each direction, while Armas Trasmediterránea maintained five daily rotations between Algeciras and Ceuta.

FRS/DFDS cancelled several departures of the 'Ceuta Jet' between Ceuta and Algeciras due to technical issues on Aug 23, 2025. The scheduled departure from Ceuta at 6:30 p.m. and the return departure from Algeciras at 8:00 p.m. were canceled. in addition to the previous cancellations of the day: the 3:30 p.m. departure from Ceuta and the 5:00 p.m. departure from Algeciras, which had already left several passengers with unexpected changes of plan. Affected passengers were advised to contact the customer service department of the shipping company to arrange changes or refunds.
