Mon May 26 09:47:33 CEST 2025 Timsen

On May 25 at noon, the 'Champion Jet 2' docked at the central port of Milos, coming from the port of Sifnos, after two failed mooring attempts, due to adverse weather conditions.During the second mooring attempt, the ship's stern starboard rope had broken, without any injuries or further material damage. For safety reasons, ande since it was observed that the ship had moored at a 35 degree angle, resulting in part of the stern starboard ramp not touching the pier, the order was given by the Port Authority of Milos not to begin the -unloading process until it was safely moored. After the ship was moore353 passengers, six vehicles and three motorcycles disembarked, and 128 passengers and one vehicle boarded the ferry, which set sail to continue its route. The Port Authority of Milos was conducting a preliminary investigation under the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office. At the same time the procedure for imposing administrative sanctions against the master has been launched, because he did not comply with the repeated orders of the Port Authority to close the ramps during the process of attempting to moor the ship.
