Several passengers injured when ferry was hit by storm

At least four passengers were injured when the storm Boelo hit the 'Color Hybrid' on Oct 26, 2026, between Sandefjord and Strømstad, and three strong waves hit the ferry unexpectedly, causing it to tilt. Things shattered and flew across the floor, several passengers fell, and some suffered cuts and allegedly fractures. The ferry had left Sandefjord at 10 a.m., and around 15 minutes after departure, passengers were told that they could encounter waves of up to four meters. At around 10.45 a.m. the strongest waves hit. Over the loudspeaker, doctors and orthopedists were called for. When the ferry arrived in Strømstad, several ambulances were waiting at the quay. According to the ferry company, no one was seriously injured, whiles some of the furnishings on board were damaged. As a result of the storm, several of Color Line's ferry departures were cancelled. Ferry delayed due to technical problems

The 'Color Hybrid', that had been supposed to leave Sandefjord enroute to Strømstad on Oct 6, 2025, at 10 a.m. had the departure delayed due to technical problems. After these were fixed, the ferry finally sailed an hour and a half later and headed towards Strømstad with an ETA as of 1.30 p.m. the same day.

Ferry returned to Sandefjord due to two medical emergencies

On April 25, 2024, at 11:45 a.m. the 'Color Hybrid' had to turn around on the first sailing of the day between Sandefjord and Strømstad. Two passengers needed medical assistance. 20 minutes after the ferry set off on the day's first trip to Strømstad, the ship was back in Sandefjord. Two ambulances attended at the port, once the ship had docked. The incident led to some delays, but the company Color Line hoped that the afternoon departures could go as scheduled.
