Bulk carrier grounded at Nara Dönüşü

On July 29, 2026, the 'Pilatus Marine', ballasting en route from Syria to Russia, suffered an engine failure and subsequently ran aground at Nara Dönüşü in pos. 40° 25' N 026° 50' E during the transit of the Çanakkale Strait. Following an inspection conducted by divers of Coastal Safety, the tugs 'Kurtarma 16' (IMO: 9915052) and 'Kurtarma 19' (IMO: 9995129), assisted by the lifeboat 'Kiyem 1' (MMSI: 271042656), were called to refloat the ship. The response was coordinated by the Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center. Medevac off Roscoff

In the afternoon of Nov 15, 2022, a crew member of the 'Protector St. George', en route from Ust-Luga to Port Said, was medevaced off Roscoff by helicopter. The CROSS Corsen was notified shortly after 3:30 p.m. and deployed a Dragon 29 helicopter with a doctor from the army health service on board. After the sailor was airlifted, he was transported to a hospital in Brest.
