Crane ship recovering sunken fishing vessel
On Nov 10, 2025, the 'FDA Mimmi', which had been mobilized from Finnsnes, started to recover the wreck of the Norwegian fishing vessel 'Trogangen H-261-H', 49,46 gt, which had sunk in Salangsverket for the second time on Oct 27, after having been abandoned at the quay for a long time. The owner, the Swede Tommy Løf, received an order from Salangen municipality to remove the wreck, Onlys on Sep 18, the Finnsnes Dykk og Anleggsservice AS had raised the 70 year old ship off Salangsverket after almost one year on the bottom. After the recovery, the name of the “Trogangen”, which had adorned the wheelhouse during the operation, was quickly removed. Removing a name from a vessel can signal that the owner no longer wants to be responsible for the ship and also can also make it more difficult to trace its identity, which in turn can lead to challenges for authorities and the marina. After the 'Torvangen' was raised, it was left at Salangen's Kystlag's marina. On the niight of Oct 27, it suddenly sank again.
