Ferry to be repaired in yard after breakdown
The Swedish Transport Administration has announced that the 'Gull-Britt', serving on the route between Skår and Finnsbo, in the Lysekil municipality, must be repaired at Fridhems shipyard and may be out of service for the next two weeks. They were now trying to get the spare ferry 'Gullmaj' to Gullmarsleden. The goal was to have a replacement ship in service at the beginning of next week. Troubleshooting of the ferry has been ongoing continuously since an outage occurred on Aug 5, 2026. The checks and examinations that were possible with the propeller assembly mounted on the ferry have now been carried out. In order to continue troubleshooting, the propeller assembly needs to be lifted from the ferry and dismantled for internal inspection. As soon as the weather permitted, the ferry was to be towed to Fridhems shipyard in Lysekil. The estimation how long the 'Gullbritt' would be out of service, was preliminary and may be adjusted when the internal troubleshooting has been carried out and the cause of the fault has been determined.
