Tanker fired upon by US fighter jet
U.S. forces operating in the Gulf of Oman enforced blockade measures by disabling the unladen 'Hasna', which was attempting to sail towards an Iranian port on May 6, 2026, at 9 a.m. The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces observed the 'Hasna' as it transited international waters. The American forces issued multiple warnings and informed the Iranian-flagged vessel it was in violation of the U.S. blockade. After the 'Hasna'’s crew failed to comply with repeated warnings, the U.S. forces disabled the tanker’s rudder by firing several rounds from the 20 mm cannon gun of a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet launched from the USS 'Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72)'. The 'Hasna' was then no longer transiting to Iran. The jet belonged to one of three NAS Lemoore fighter jet groups deployed amid the “Operation Epic Fury”. Thr ' Hasna' was located off of Shinas on May 7 at 24.74742, 56.84609.
