Former fishing vessel sank in Greifswald

On April 15, 2021, at 5.45 a.m. the police in Greifswald was informed that the 'Johanna' had sunk at its berth on the Ryck in Greifswald-Eldena. The ship was submerged up to the main deck with a list to port side. An oil boom was laid out around the wreck. Small quantities of oily substances leaked into the water. Divers were called to carry out a hull survey. It was planned to straighten the ship and pump it out on April 16, before lifting it with air bags. The quay was too fragile to deploy a mobile crane. The police launched an investigation.
