Allision with fish farm on Kiel Canal

The ' Longeon', enroute from Rostock to Bilbao, allided with a trout farm on the Kiel Canal in Rade (Rendsburg-Eckernförde district) on July 30, 2026. The vessel became unmaneuverable due to a technical failure on the morning and drifted into the fish farm. Investigators found damage to buoys and the holding basin. The police estimated the damage to be in the mid-to-upper five-figure range. Police divers were rasked to conduct a detailed damage assessment in the coming days and weeks. No fish were harmed or escaped. The ship's crew managed to repair the technical fault while still on the water and continue their journey under their own power. The damage to the fish farm was exceeding 50,000 Euros.
