Four ferries struck by drones

On the night of July 12, 2026, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) executed a synchronised, large-scale long-range drone operation targeting critical military, logistics, and energy infrastructure across temporarily occupied Crimea and adjacent Russian regions. Strategic strikes hit the Port Kavkaz terminal (Krasnodar Krai) and the Kerch ferry crossing, damaging three petroleum storage tanks, a freight train transporting fuel tank cars, and four vehicle ferries, the 'Eysk', 'Maria', 'Lavrentiy' and 'Panagia'. In the Black Sea, two Project 12150 Mangust patrol boats were neutralised. The disruption of both the Kerch ferry line and the Kavkaz railway network heavily degraded Russia's primary southern supply routes, severely constraining fuel distribution and military logistics to forces stationed in occupied Crimea.
