Water flowed into Mein Schiff flow
On Oct 7, some water entered the stairwell of the 'Mein Schiff Flow' during heavy rain at sea enroute from Tarragona to Civitavecchia. The water found its way into interior areas. The exact cause was unknown; it may have been due to the heavy rainfall in a short period or a door to the outer deck not closing properly. The stairwell A, leading to the Harbour Market buffet restaurant, was affected. When the water ingress was noticed, attempts were made to stop it. The crew then initiated drying measures. Dehumidifiers were put in place on the affected stairwell. The 'Mein Schiff Flow' continued its voyage without interruption and arrived as scheduled in Civitavecchia on Oct 8.
Cruise ship assisted migrant boat - two migrants died
On Sep 22, the 'Mein Schiff Flow' spotted a boat carrying 18 migrants in the Mediterranean and initiated a rescue operation. The cruise ship was en route from the Strait of Gibraltar to Palma de Mallorca. The small motorboat, equipped with an outboard engine, was drifting in the water approximately 80 nautical miles north of the Algerian port city of Oran and 27 nautical miles south of Cartagena, outside the standard shipping lanes for commercial vessels. Only two cruise ships were in the area at the time. The 'Mein Schiff Flow' was coming from the Strait of Gibraltar. The ship's command responded immediately and notified the relevant authorities as well as the Spanish Coast Guard. The crew distributed water bottles to the refugees. One man fell into the water and was rescued by the cruise ship crew. Additionally, the 'Salvamar Draco' attended from Cartagena. Within a few minutes, it took the remaining 16 survivors and one body from the boat on board and brought them to Cartagena, where emergency services took over their further care. One of the survivors, who had already been unconscious and in critical condition, was declared dead. Several of the remaining occupants also showed signs of extreme weakness. After three hours, the 'Mein Schiff Flow' was able to continue its voyage towards Palma de Mallorca. Medevac on maiden voyage
On its maiden voyage from Trieste to Mallorca, the 'Mein Schiff Flow' had to change course on the afternoon of June 21, 2026. The reason was a medical emergency on board the ship. About an hour after departing from the port of Trieste, it approached the Slovenian coast, allowing the affected person to be brought ashore. Some passengers took photos and videos of the emergency from their balconies or behind windows. The response was a request to delete all recordings out of respect for those affected. Following the medevac, the 'Mein Schiff Flow' continued its voyage to Palermo with an ETA as of June 23, 2026.
