Gronding in Humber eastuary
On the early morning of May 27, 2026, the 'Murray V – K 28' ran aground in the Humber estuary near Cleethorpes. The fishing vessel had been moored, when the anchor chain snapped, and it went adrift, finally getting stuck on the Whaleback Sandbank opposite Humberston Fitties (Lat. 53.5333 Lng. 0.0150). The HM Coastguard was alerted and made attempts to refloat the ship, but the outgoing tide left it high and dry. The next attempt to refloat the vessel was made on the next high tide, and at 2.30 p.m. it proceeded to Grimsby, where it safely berthed at 3.30 p.m. Photos: https://www.facebook.com/ApsDron/photos/d41d8cd9/974224758655849/ https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1631158575681540&set=pb.100063622388872.-2207520000
