Collision near Kinderdijk

The 'Musketier', enroute from Antwerp to Amsterdam, and the 'Bayern 2' (MMSI: 211169340), enroute from Rotterdam to Doss, were in collision at the interjunction of the Noord and Lek rivers near Kinderdijk on Sep 24, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m. The 'Bayern 2' sustained damage to its port side. There were no injuries resulting from the collision. No hazardous substances were released. At 3:48 p.m., the crew of the KNRM boat 'KBW 1910' was alerted in addition to the patrol boats 'RWS 71', 'RWS 73' and the fire department, which were already present at the scene. Both vessels were assessed. and it turned out that the damage to one ship was minor, while the other had sustained significant damage. After consulting with the fire department, the 'KBW 1910' returned to the station. The further response was handed over to Rijkswaterstaat. Following the collision, the 'Bayern 2' was initally moored alongside the 'Mai Pensato' (MMSI: 244670591), before proceeding to Dordrecht. The 'Musketier' berthed in Amsterdam on Sep 25.
