Injured person taken off ship with construction crane

On Oct 26, 2025, at approximately 6:10 p.m., the Stuttgart Fire Department responded to an emergency aboard the 'Oleander' on the Neckar River near the Rosenstein Bridge. A person on the vessel received first aid from paramedics and had to be transported to a hospital for further medical treatment. Due to the overall circumstances, the incident commander alerted the Stuttgart Fire Department's high-altitude rescue team to the scene. A construction crane located on site was used to transport the injured person. Fire and rescue personnel prepared the injured person for transport. The person was then lifted ashore on a special stretcher via the construction crane. A high-altitude rescuer with paramedical training also provided support during the airborne transport. Once ashore, the person was taken in care of by paramedics and transported to a Stuttgart hospital for further treatment.
