Ferry sold and renamed
The Blue Bridge New Zealand have sold the 'Strait Feronia' to the Egyptian Pan Marine Shipping Co and reflagged to Panama. The ferry was renamed 'Pan Lily'. On Oct 6, 2025, it left the port of Wellington en route to Singapore with an ETA as of Oct 22, likely for drydocking. The vessel originally operated as the 'Mersey Viking' between Liverpool and Dublin. It was acquired by Strait Shipping (now StraitNZ) from Stena in 2015 and began service between Wellington and Picton. The ferry made its final sailing on the Cook Strait route in mid-October, following the return of the 'Connemara' from routine drydocking in Singapore. Its direct replacement, the 'Livia',. also purchased from Stena, arrived in early July and began service mid-month. This allowed the 'Connemara' to head for its scheduled docking. The 'Pan Lily' was now expected to operate in the Red Sea region.
