Near miss on the IJ

On Sep 11, 2018, the river cruise ship "Vista Explorer" was in a near miss with the "Pro-Contra", 1821 ts (EU-No.: 06003465), on the IJ in Amsterdam. The incident took place on the north side of the river in the afternoon near the passenger jetty for river cruisers. The "Vista Explorer" suddenly made a radical turn to port side. The barge could avoid a collision only by immediatly going astern and starting an evasive manoever of the last moment. The skipper has filed a complaint with the Port of Amsterdam. The port authority was investigating the near-collision.
