Pilot seriusly injured when falling from ladder

On July 7, 2025, at 12.45 a.m. a 66 year old pilot was seriously injured when fell bacl six meters down from a rope ladder when he climbed onto another ship from the 'Raan' of the Belgian Pilotage Service. Several ambulances and police units arrived at the scene as a matter of urgency. Due to the seriousness of the injury, a trauma helicopter was also called in. It landed on Boulevard Bankert in Flushing . The man was then taken by ambulance to the hospital in Goes under the supervision of a trauma doctor. He was later taken to the University Hospital in Antwerp. There he is still in critical condition. The exact cause of the accident was still being investigated by the Dutch Research Council.
