Fire was complicated to douse

On Apr 18, 2016, at 7:54 p.m. the fire brigades from Zwartsluis and Hasselt were alerted due to a fire aboard the "A-Quadraat", 2507 ts (EU-No.: 02325946), which was on the slip of the yard at the summer dike in Zwartsluis, Lelystad. In the rund of the day welding work had been carried out at the height of the engine room causing a small fire, which could expand to a major one after a while. With a high pressure foam jet the fire was supressed. It proved to be a difficult job to reach the origin of the fire. Some hatches had to be removed in order to get access. Because these wree so hot, it was no easy task. With a fair amount of water the temperaturewas lowered so that they could be removed. Now the fire could finally be doused efficiently.
